Senior honors thesis exhibition, "Light in the Attic," runs through May 17 at Artspace Gallery
Light in the Attic: 2009 Senior Thesis Exhibition will be on display at Artspace Gallery @ Planet Zero now through May 17 and will feature artwork created by four University of Richmond graduating seniors: Ashley Davis, Sara Perkins, Dan Shoemaker and Emily Viviani.
The senior thesis exhibition is the capstone experience for graduating studio art majors in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Richmond. Organized by the University of Richmond Museums and the Department of Art and Art History in collaboration with Artspace Gallery, the exhibition is on view at two locations—the Harnett Museum of Art and Artspace Gallery in the Plant Zero Art Complex downtown—and is sponsored in part by 12 12 Gallery, Richmond.
Artwork is on display at the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art on the University of Richmond campus from April 17 through May 8, 2009. The Museum’s summer hours are Wednesday to Friday, 1 to 4 p.m. Artwork on exhibit at Artspace Gallery located at Zero East 4th Street in Richmond will be displayed through May 17. Artspace Gallery is open daily, from noon to 4 p.m.
The four seniors have been keeping a blog at urartlightintheattic.wordpress.com to document the show’s planning and installation process. The thesis seminar was led this year by printmaker and University of Richmond art professor Tanja Softic.
