Career Development Center's career and internship fair helps liberal arts majors land jobs
The Career Development Center will host its annual career and internship fair on Wednesday, September 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Robins Center. Employers on campus include the U.S. Department of State, Environment America, Microsoft, the Peace Corps and Teach for America, among many others.
Students of all majors are encouraged to attend, including first-, second- and third-year students who want to get a jumpstart on searching for summer internship opportunities.
The CDC, which is located in Richmond Hall, has recently expanded its walk-in hours to accommodate more students. Students can ask for a critique of their resume, get interview tips and general career exploration advice Monday through Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Advisors will also offer walk-in hours at three other convenient locations on campus throughout the week. From 2 to 4 p.m., students can stop by the Modlin Center for the Arts on Tuesdays, Westhampton College Hanging Lounge on Wednesdays and the Gottwald Science Center on Thursdays.
Other career prep opportunities are being offered throughout the fall:
Pre-Career Fair Workshop Series

Staff from the Career Development Center give Arts & Sciences and Jepson students tips on “How to Work a Career Fair” in Weinstein Hall’s Brown-Alley Room

On-Campus Interview Program
The Career Development Center’s on-campus interview program begins September 29. Application submission deadlines are approaching quickly. A variety of organizations are seeking liberal arts majors for internship and job opportunities. Students must log-in to the CDC’s database, SpiderConnect, to view the complete schedule and sign-up for interviews.
Mock Interviews and Organization Information Sessions
Many representatives will be on campus to present information about their organizations and available internship and job opportunities. Need to brush up on your interview skills in preparation for an internship or job search? Schedule a mock-interview with representatives from many different organizations. Students can view the complete schedule and sign up for information sessions online.
