School of Arts & Sciences hosts Honors Convocation Apr. 14

The School of Arts & Sciences will host the 2009 Arts & Sciences Honors Convocation on Tuesday, April 14 at 11 a.m. in Cannon Memorial Chapel.

Dr. Mari Lee Mifsud, associate professor of rhetoric, will give the address, “Liberal Education as Gift/Giving.” The convocation’s featured speaker will be Matt King, ’09, a computer science and philosophy double major, whose speech will highlight how his liberal arts education has changed his world view and value systems.

The convocation will also honor the 2009 winners of the David C. Evans Outstanding Research Achievement Award, the David C. Evans Outstanding Creative Achievement Award and the Core course essay contest.

Music will be performed by several vocal and instrumental students.
