"Connect with Your Future" offers focus on careers in science Jan. 26

Connect with Your Future: A Symposium on Careers in Science offers students the opportunity to attend four unique panel sessions on:

  • Scientific Research: Academia vs Industry
  • Science Education and Communication
  • The Business of Science: Research and Development in the Private Sector
  • Science Policy and Law
  • Health Professions

Each session will be repeated twice during the morning: from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In each session, panelists will give a brief overview of what they do and how they arrived at this point in their professional life (educational background, time commitments of the job, perks of the job, downsides of the job-if any) This will be followed by a question and answer session that will be moderated by an upperclass student from the biochemistry and molecular biology program.
