"Living Your Politics: Gandhi, Belief and Social Action" Student-Faculty Colloquy Nov. 5
Date: Nov. 5, 2007
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location:
The Great Hall in Ryland Hall
Join Core professors Andy McGraw (music) and Nicole Sackley (history) as well as Wayan Mastriyana (international education, VCU) in a conversation on the life and writings of Gandhi.
How did Gandhi's life inform his writing? How did his writing inform his life? And how might answers to these questions impact upon your own way of living?
Has reading Gandhi's essays and reflecting on his life prompted you to wonder about the relation between your own political beliefs and your personal behavior and social actions?
This student-faculty colloquy will address these issues, and Wayan Mastriyana will enrich our conversation by sharing some of his experiences in ashrams in Bali and India.
