"Marx Without Marx" Student-Faculty Colloquy Nov. 17
Date: Nov. 17, 2008
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location:
Ryland Hall, Great Hall
Join Core professors Tze Loo (history) and Eric Yellin (history) for an informal conversation, "Marx Without Marx: The Prevalence of Marxism in Our Everyday Lives."
This colloquy will explore some of the ideas that many of us take for granted that come out of Karl Marx's writings. How do we understand ourselves in economic terms? What aspects of everyday life do we think are most important? How do we feel about commercialized aspects of our lives? How do we see ourselves in relation to people who have more power or wealth than we do?
