I am always pinching myself over the incredible good fortune of having so many generous, talented and faithful Osher program leaders. All volunteers, many of them have taught for us for almost all of our nine years.

The Osher Open House on January 7 featured more than 20 Osher program leaders showcasing their upcoming Spring Osher classes. They brought colorful displays, materials and stories to share with over 100 attendees, who munched on popcorn while they browsed the display tables and chatted with the leaders.

Highlights included a performance of “Who’s on First” by two members of the Osher Readers’ Theater and a dramatic reading of the lyrics to “Why We Sing” by a member of the Osher Community Choir. Richmond President Emeritus Bruce Heilman attended and autographed his book An Interruption That Lasted a Lifetime for a lucky door prize winner.

Another open house is planned for August 15 when we will preview upcoming Fall Osher classes.  Come check it out and bring your friends!
