Get to know our newest staff member!

This fall we welcome our newest staff member, Amanda Ray Ennis, as the program manager for The Richmond MBA! We sat down with her to find out what she’s most excited about in her position.

Q: What is your professional background?

A: I previously worked at George Washington University as a program coordinator for their doctoral executive program. In that role, I supported students from enrollment until graduation. Before working at George Washington, I worked at George Mason University as an undergraduate admissions counselor. I have a master’s degree in higher education from George Mason, and wrote my thesis on Sweet Briar College and the alumnae efforts that successfully kept the college open in 2015.

Q: What appealed to you about the program manager position?

A: I am originally from the Richmond area, so working at the University of Richmond and being close to my family was really appealing. I have worked in both admission and student support, so this position really allowed for my previous experiences to come together into one role. As a higher education professional, I really enjoy supporting students. I’m a big education advocate, and getting to support students throughout their time in the program is really important to me. The program manager is the perfect combination of my experiences, so I knew it would be a role in which I would excel.

Q: What interests you most about The Richmond MBA?

A: I love that The Richmond MBA is made for working professionals. I appreciate that there is a focus on understanding what students want to learn and how to make the program better. It’s the first time I’ve seen students give feedback, and have a program apply it immediately. I’m proud to be a part of The Richmond MBA team and at a place that is committed to students.

Q: What do you want students to know about you?

A: I have a bulldog named Cooper and my favorite holiday is Halloween (it’s also my wedding anniversary)! I am a dual citizen of Sweden and my favorite hobbies are reading and cycling. I am excited to get to know the students and alumni, and am here to help with any questions they may have.
