Cadets tour historic battlegrounds with Brigadier General (ret.) John Mountcastle Sept. 26 and 27

The Department of Military Science and Leadership will conduct a battle staff ride on September 26 and 27 in central and western Virginia. The purpose of the staff ride is to improve student understanding of historical battles, assess historical tactics based upon the U.S. Army's current principles of war and to assist in the student’s officer development by assessing battlefield leader decisions. Brigadier General (retired) John Mountcastle, former Chief of the Army’s Military History Department, will facilitate the two-day leadership conference and staff ride for approximately 20 University of Richmond Spider Battalion cadets.
