Alumnus featured in prestigious opera publication

Matthew Worth, ’00, was recently featured in the February 2007 issue of Opera News and Opera News Online magazines. This honor distinguishes Worth as a rising star in the opera world.

As a music major, Worth studied under Jennifer Cable during his time at Richmond. He then attended graduate school at Manhattan School of Music and Julliard Opera Center. The singer has had leading roles in Lowell Libermann’s Miss Lonelyhearts and Stephen Hartke’s The Greater Good. He also performed at Tanglewood in Cosi Fan Tutte, conducted by James Levine. Worth is showing no signs of slowing-- he will perform the title role in the Chicago Opera Theater's Owen Wingrave in 2009.
