Partners in the Arts program director to present at 2012 National Arts Education Association convention

September 23, 2011

Dr. Elizabeth A. Sheehan, Director of the Partners in the Arts program at the School of Continuing Studies, will present a paper titled “Culture, Collaboration and Arts Integration” at the 2012 National Convention of the National Arts Education Association in New York City.

Sheehan will present the paper as part of a best practices session on arts integration across the school curriculum. She will also represent the School and Partners in the Arts, the city’s premier arts-in-education program, to the national association.

The National Convention will be held March 1-4, 2012.

Partners in the Arts, one of the community programs housed at UR Downtown, promotes the integration of arts and arts education into all aspects of the school curriculum. Partners funds arts integration projects in schools throughout the greater Richmond metropolitan area, and it trains teachers in integrating the arts during its annual Joan Oates Institute for Partners in the Arts on the University of Richmond campus each summer.
