Partners in the Arts releases award guidelines for 2012-2013 academic year

October 21, 2011

Partners in the Arts, a program of the School of Professional & Continuing Studies at the University of Richmond, has released guidelines for its 2012-2013 academic year awards.

Regional K-12 teachers are invited to submit funding proposals for arts integration projects in their classrooms. Award amounts will range from $250 to $10,000, and a total of approximately $50,000 will be awards for projects to be carried out during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Partners in the Arts awards funds to proposed projects that will demonstrate effective methods for integrating the arts into multiple aspects of the curriculum. Many successful proposals emerge as a result of teachers’ experiences and final projects during the summer Joan Oates Institute for Partners in the Arts.

Interested teachers or teacher teams must file a letter of intent by December 5, 2011, to have a project considered for an award. Teachers who file a letter of intent will be required to submit full proposals by March 12, 2012, and awards will be announced by May 4, 2012.

Since 1994, Partners in the Arts has distributed awards totaling over $2.9 million to Richmond area schools. In addition, the summer institute is endowed through a generous gifted from Joan Oates, local arts advocate and co-founder of Partners in the Arts.

Complete award guidelines and application materials can be found on the Partners in the Arts website.
