Apr 27: Gail Letts, president and CEO of central Virginia region of SunTrust Bank, to be C-Suite Conversation guest May 16 at Robins School of Business

Gail Letts, president and chief executive officer of the central Virginia region of SunTrust Bank, will be the guest in a C-Suite Conversation, May 16 at University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business.

C-Suite Conversations are unscripted interviews with business decision-makers in central Virginia. The series highlights challenges and opportunities of high-level executives and provides insight about balancing leadership obligations with the needs of stakeholders.

Robins School Senior Associate Dean Richard Coughlan will interview Letts about leadership, decision-making, strategy and other areas that contribute to an organization’s success in a one-on-one conversation in question and answer format.

The program will be held at Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium, at 8 a.m., following a networking breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, but online registration is required at http://tinyurl.com/csuiteletts051612.

Letts joined the bank in 1983 as employee relations manager in the Maryland region and has held a variety of positions including director of training (Maryland region), head of retail (Maryland and Greater Washington regions) and STI head of branch banking (Atlanta).

Letts received a bachelor of arts degree from Wilkes University, completed the ABA Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, received a certificate in financial planning, and completed the National School of Finance and Management and the Executive Leadership Program, National Council of Savings Institutions, at Fairfield University.

Letts serves on the boards of the Greater Richmond Partnership, United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg, Virginia Bankers Association, Richmond Symphony, Presidents’ Council for UNOS and CenterStage Foundation.
