Chandra Rhue, C'12, named dean of students at Meadowbrook High School

June 27, 2012

Chandra Rhue, a prospective December 2012 recipient of a graduate certificate in educational leadership and policy studies, has been named dean of students at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield County.

Dr. Tom Shields, program coordinator for educational leadership and policy studies in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies and director of the University’s Center for Leadership in Education, recognizes the significance of Rhue’s appointment. “This is a considerable promotion because deans in Chesterfield County Public Schools have many of the same responsibilities as an assistant principal.”

Students earning the graduate certificate in educational leadership and policy studies must already have earned a master’s degree. The program’s coursework and comprehensive examination prepare students to take the School Leaders Licensure Assessment and may lead to Virginia Department of Education licensure as a school leader.
