TIME Magazine columnist Joe Klein to open Jepson Leadership Forum on Groundbreakers Sept. 19

TIME Magazine columnist Joe Klein will open the 2012-13 season of the Jepson Leadership Forum Sept. 19, 7 p.m., at University of Richmond’s Jepson Alumni Center, with a provocative look at the world’s leaders.

Klein wrote the bestseller “Primary Colors: A Novel of Politics,” as “Anonymous.” The book later became an Academy Award-nominated film. He covers international and domestic affairs for his award-winning weekly column “In the Arena.” A veteran reporter of 10 presidential campaigns, he regularly provides commentary on American politics for news outlets such as Meet the Press.

The 2012-13 Forum season highlights “Groundbreakers: People, Ideas, and Innovations That Changed the World” in honor of the 20th anniversary of the University’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies, the first of its kind in the nation.

  • Richard Rhodes, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and nuclear historian, Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m., Camp Concert Hall.
  • Nan Keohane, former Duke University president and the first woman president of both a women's college and a major research university, April 15, 7 p.m, Jepson Alumni Center.
