Liberal Arts adjunct professor and poet publishes new poems in several national journals

J. Ron Smith, R‘71, G‘74 and G‘94, award-winning poet and adjunct associate professor of liberal arts in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, has recently seen four new poems printed in national journals.

In November, Smith published two poems from his upcoming book: “Roman Sleep” in the fall 2012 issue of the Anglican Theological Review; and “The Tomb of the Scipios” in the fall 2012 issue of Blackbird, an online journal of literature and the arts.

In December, Smith published two additional new poems in issue 18 of Plume online magazine: “Early Christianity: A Poem” and “Rome.”

Smith’s poem “Early Christianity: A Poem” is dedicated to his University of Richmond religion professor Dr. Frank Eakin and his University of Richmond undergraduate philosophy professor Dr. Jim Hall.

Smith’s forthcoming book of poetry, Its Ghostly Workshop, will be released by LSU Press in March 2013.
