Political philosopher Clifford Orwin to kick off spring lineup of Marshall Center Lecture Series Jan. 25

Political philosopher Clifford Orwin will deliver a talk, “A Democratic Leader Responds to Catastrope: The Plague of Athens and Pericles’ Final Speech,” Jan. 25, 4:30 p.m., in Jepson Hall 118. The talk is the first in the spring lineup for the 2012-13 Marshall Center Lecture Series.

Orwin is a professor of political science, classics, and Jewish studies and director of the Program in Political Philosophy and International Affairs at the University of Toronto. He writes frequently on current political issues and the role of religion in politics for Canadian media and is the author of “The Humanity of Thucydides” and co-editor of “The Legacy of Rousseau.”
