University of Richmond's Jepson School to mark 20th anniversary with conference on "The State of Leadership Studies"

January 21, 2013

Top leadership scholars in the U.S. and abroad will gather at University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies Feb. 1-2 for a conference on “The State of Leadership Studies.”

Twenty years ago, the Jepson School changed how leadership was studied and taught by looking at the topic through the lens of the liberal arts. Invited scholars in the still relatively new field will examine leadership studies education and research over the past 20 years, look at the future of the field and identify possible new areas for research.

Panel sessions include leadership ethics; followership; political leadership; justice and social identity; literature, history and religion; and groups. The conference is not open to the public. For more information, visit jepson.richmond.edu.

The Jepson School’s curriculum and approach to leadership education has been widely copied by programs around the world. The conference is part of a yearlong celebration of the School’s 20th anniversary.
