English professor publishes 10th book of poetry

January 31, 2013

University of Richmond English professor Brian Henry published his 10th book of poetry in December 2012, titled Brother No One.

Written during the George W. Bush era, the poems in Brother No One take their bearings from our surveillance society, where no action or transaction goes unnoticed. Everything, from vacation spots to email messages to food choice, becomes part of the surveilled tableau, and the lines between victim, bystander, and perpetrator become blurred.

Henry specializes in contemporary American, Australian, and British poetry and also regularly translates Slovenian poetry.

He teaches English and creative writing and was honored with the University’s Distinguished Educator Award in 2011.
