Osher Institute director facilitates sessions at 'Aging in America' conference

May 7, 2013

Jane Dowrick, director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond, recently co-facilitated two sessions at the March 2013 national conference of the American Society on Aging, “Aging in America.”

Aging in America, the annual conference of the American Society on Aging, brings together relevant content, innovations and best practices and develops thought leadership on the most critical issues in the field of aging.

Dowrick co-facilitated with Osher members these two sessions at the conference.

  • Educators of Older Adults Peer Group—This peer group will provide an opportunity for educators of older adults (instructors, program planner, program coordinators, trainers and others) to meet and talk with their peers from across the country (and hopefully around the world). It will be a chance to share ideas and concerns with others in our field.
  • Maturing Higher Education—Tour the latest developments in lifelong learning, via creative positive aging programs in higher education. Explore new frontiers in continuing education for career development and quality-of-life enhancement. This panel session is presented by leaders in the field in older learner/faculty programs and curricula.

The Osher Institute at the University of Richmond is a program of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies.
