International Film: Found Memories

The International Film Series features Found Memories, a 2011 film from Brazil. The film focuses on a stranger who brings some changes—not all of them welcome—to a tiny, forgotten community of Jotuomba in Brazil. Less than a dozen elderly people still call it home, and their lives are governed by a routine they have followed for ages until twenty-something Rita arrives with her homemade camera and curiosity. She rents a room from Madalena, the village baker, and proceeds to discover Jotuomba’s stories.
