International Film: The Deflowering of Eva Van End

The international film feature for February 27 and March 1 is The Deflowering of Eva Van End (Netherlands, 2011). A misfit teenager, Eva, has a surprise for her dysfunctional family: she’s signed them up to host a German exchange student. In great satirical style, exchange student Veit arrives and is perfect in almost every way. His virtuous character is starkly and hilariously juxtaposed against Eva’s family, who are dealing with insecurities and various troubles. His presence, somehow, helps the family reinvent themselves.
