Discover the Whaling Journal on "Talk Like a Pirate" Day

Discover our 1850s whaling journal penned by Vernon Locke, a noted privateer later in his career.  Our pirate sailed around the world on multiple vessels, which can also be explored via the online site, Sail Away (sailaway.richmond.edu). The journal and other pirate-themed materials from our collections offer the chance to explore this historic cultural theme on Talk Like a Pirate Day, September 19.
