RICHMOND, Va. (MNI) - Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank President Loretta Mester said Tuesday she supports further interest rate increases as well as taking the first steps to shrink the Fed's massive balance sheet this year as the economy continues to steadily expand.

"If economic conditions evolve as anticipated, I believe further removal of accommodation via increases in the fed funds rate will be needed," she said.
