Open Tools, Open Practices, Open Science - Oct. 19 Faculty Workshop

October 4, 2017

Open Tools, Open Practices, Open Science

The movement towards greater openness is having a profound effect on all stages of the research life cycle. Join Ian Sullivan from the Center for Open Science for a survey of discipline-agnostic tools and practices for increasing the openness and transparency of research. We will discuss how these methods can be used in the classroom and how they can improve the reproducibility of research findings. Topics will include preprints, preregistration, Registered Reports, open research incentive programs, version control, and the Open Science Framework. The Center for Open Science is a nonprofit operating out of Charlottesville, VA to help improve the openness, integrity, and reproducibility of scholarly research.
