Richmond-area CEOs of small and medium-size businesses optimistic about sales, hiring, according to survey (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Optimism about the economic outlook grew among Virginia CEOs in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to a local survey.

Expectations for hiring, capital spending and sales over the next six months were all up in a quarterly survey of business executives conducted by the Virginia Council of CEOs and the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business.

The fourth-quarter results rounded out what was “an optimistic year for CEOs” in 2017, according to the survey, which has been administered quarterly since 2010. Last year saw three of the four strongest quarters since the survey started.
