Participate in Banned Books Week at Boatwright

Note the flyers around the library defining the “language of censorship”, a white board listing classic books that have been challenged (along with patrons comments!)and a series of portraits of challenged authors being “censored,” posted around the main stairway. Banned Books Week is an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association. The week highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harms of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bannings of books across the United States.
