Boatwright Library Summer Renovations
University Facilities and Boatwright Library are collaborating together to implement a major renovation of the library during the summer of 2012. The plan will respond to students’ request for additional quiet and group study space. The first floor will become a collaborative area where students, staff and faculty can meet to pursue work on research projects, both in an open area and in group study rooms. Research librarian offices will also be located in the collaborative space, in order to provide more personal attention and research support for both students and faculty. In addition, the Writing Center and Academic Skills Center will have outpost offices on the first floor. The second floor of Boatwright will be dedicated to quiet study space and individual study rooms. Print collections from the first and second floors will move to new compact shelving on Basement Level 2. Library staff offices on both levels will be remodeled to meet changing technology and program needs. We invite you to learn more details about the renovations during our upcoming “Building a Better Boatwright” Week. Please see the schedule of events below.
