Clemson University professor Todd May will give a lecture, "Equality Among the Refugees: A Rancièrean view of Montréal’s Sans-Status Algerians” on November 13 at 5 p.m.
May is currently the Kathryn and Calhoun Lemon Professor of Philosophy at Clemson. He has authored eight books of philosophy, including his most recent, The Political Thought of Jacques Ranciere: Creating Equality. His area of specialization is contemporary French philosophy. He has also worked in a number of progressive political movements, including anti-racism work, gay rights, Palestinian rights, anti-apartheid and labor movements.
