Interfaith Youth Core leader to speak at 25th annual Weinstein-Rosenthal Forum

Eboo Patel, president of the Chicago-based Interfaith Youth Core, will speak about “Acts of Faith: Interfaith Leadership in a Time of Global Religious Crisis,” Nov. 14, 7 p.m., at the University of Richmond’s Alice Jepson Theatre, Modlin Center for the Arts.

His speech marks the 25th annual Weinstein-Rosenthal Forum on Faith, Ethics and Global Society (formerly Weinstein-Rosenthal Lecture). Sponsored by the Office of the Chaplaincy, it is free and open to the public.

Patel is a founding member and current president of Interfaith Youth Core, an organization that promotes interfaith cooperation among youth. He served on President Barack Obama’s inaugural Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships. He earned a doctorate in sociology from the University of Oxford.

A reception will follow the lecture, where Patel will sign copies of his book, “Acts of Faith: The Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation,” which will be on sale.
