Bronze Star recipient, former JAG instructor will speak at Veterans Day program

A Bronze Star recipient and a former U.S. Army JAG officer will speak Nov. 11 at a Veterans Day program sponsored by the University of Richmond School of Law’s Veteran and Military Law Association.

Free and open to the public, the program will be held in Cannon Memorial Chapel on campus at 1:30 p.m. The program also will feature the University’s ROTC and an invocation by University Chaplain Craig Kocher. Law students Kate Anthony and Christopher Adams will sing the national anthem. A reception will follow in Wilton Interfaith Center.

Speakers will be:

  • Tom Cossé, associate dean for international programs and professor of marketing and international business at the Robins School of Business. Cossé served with the U.S. Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (airborne) at Ft. Bragg, N.C., and the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam from 1966–1967. Cossé holds the Parachutist Badge and received the Bronze Star for meritorious service in Vietnam and the Presidential Unit Citation.
  • Charles Allen, a founder and managing member of Goodman Allen & Filetti, PLLC. Allen has been an adjunct professor of law at Richmond School of Law, Liberty University School of Law and the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s School. Allen was chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Committee on Professionalism and is a frequent lecturer on litigation techniques, including the use of technology in litigation, as well as ethics and professional issues.
