2013 Tucker-Boatwright Festival of Film kicks off March 1 with 16 Latin American films

The University of Richmond’s 2013 Tucker-Boatwright Festival of Film will begin with a three-day festival, “Latin America in the Movies,” March 1–3. All films will be shown at Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium.

Sixteen award-winning films, features and documentaries from and about Latin America will be presented by experts and filmmakers. Topics include: the American wars of independence, memory, labor and the environment, liberation theology, political activism, family and adopted children from regions at war, and trials against the paramilitary.

The film festival is a semester-long combination of screenings, lectures and classes.
