Performance artist, writer Holly Hughes to give performance of her work, respond to questions Feb. 26

Performance artist and writer Holly Hughes will give a performance of her works Feb. 26, 7 p.m., in the Modlin Center’s Cousins Studio Theater at the University of Richmond. A question and answer session will follow.

Hughes is the author of more than a dozen plays and performance pieces and co-editor of three other books including, “Animal Acts: Performing Species Today” with Una Chadhuri and “Memories of the Revolution: The First Ten Years of the WOW Café” with Alina Troyano. She is the winner of numerous awards including the 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lambda Book Award and a GLAAD Media Award. She is professor of art and design, women’s studies and theater and drama the University of Michigan.

The talk is part of “Performing Texts,” a series sponsored by the University of Richmond’s English department with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
