Gayle Goodson Butler elected URAA president; new officers and board members also elected

Gayle Goodson Butler of Des Moines, Iowa, has been elected president of the University of Richmond Alumni Association (URAA).

A 1973 Richmond graduate, she is editor-in-chief of Better Homes & Gardens magazine and executive vice president and creative content leader of Meredith Corp.’s National Media Group.

Newly elected URAA officers and their special areas of responsibility include:

  • Craig W. Flinn, vice president for planning and operations, a 1987 graduate from New Vernon, N.J.
  • Mary Ranson Gorman, member-at-large for membership, a 1990 graduate from Richmond.
  • Camille T.C. Hammond, vice president for membership, a 1997 graduate from Reisterstown, Md.
  • Samuel J. Kaufman, immediate past president, a 1999 graduate from Midlothian, Va.
  • Connor C. Marsden, vice president for outreach, a 1999 graduate from Leesburg, Va.
  • Frederick T. Naschold, member-at-large for planning and operations, a 1975 graduate from Richmond.
  • Generra Joyce Peck, secretary, a 2009 graduate from Richmond.
  • Brandt D. Portugal, treasurer, a 2002 graduate from Tokyo, Japan.
  • Andrew R. Setterberg, member-at-large for outreach, a 2006 graduate from Arlington, Va.

New URAA board members elected to three-year terms include:

  • Ashley Crenshaw, a 2007 graduate from Richmond
  • Roy Goodman, a 1985 MBA graduate from Henrico, Va.
  • Elizabeth Hailand, a 2011 graduate from Richmond

  • Steven King, a 1978 graduate from Lafayette, Calif.
  • Sean McCloskey, a 2003 graduate from Wayne, Pa.
