Jepson Leadership Forum will feature cultural critic Giles Gunn in talk about global influence of culture Oct. 23

October 2, 2013

Cultural critic Giles Gunn will discuss the influence of culture on everything from foreign policy and economics to how we view others at University of Richmond, Oct. 23, 7 p.m., at Jepson Alumni Center.

Gunn’s appearance is the second event of the 2013–14 Jepson Leadership Forum and is co-sponsored by the Office of International Education.

In his talk, “Bridging the Gap: Cultural Differences in a Globalized World,” Gunn will offer suggestions for how we can bridge challenging cultural differences and define culture in ways that include both the mainstream and the marginalized.

The lecture is free and open to the public, but registration is required at jepson.richmond.edu/forum or by calling Shannon Best, community programs coordinator, at 804-287-6522.

Through its Jepson Leadership Forum, the Jepson School of Leadership Studies presents a series of programs each year where knowledgeable speakers explore leadership topics around a theme.
