Trick or Treat Street, Lite 98 Pet Costume Contest to be held Oct. 27 at Westhampton Green

October 14, 2013

University of Richmond students will don costumes, help decorate pumpkins, paint faces and lead games as they host area families at Trick or Treat Street Oct. 27, from 12:30–4:30 p.m. on Westhampton Green. Children will be able to navigate a straw maze, enjoy inflatables and “trick or treat” for candy throughout the event.

Kat Simons, Lite 98 midday DJ, will host pet and child costume contests, and a panel of judges will award prizes in a variety of categories. The kids’ contests will begin at 2 p.m., and the pet contests start at 3 p.m. Prize categories will include, for pets: most Spider-spirited, scariest, funniest and owner-pet look-alike. The children’s categories will be most Spider-spirited, scariest, cutest and overall best.

Pets must be friendly, and owners must follow all rules as outlined on the Lite 98 website.

Trick or Treat Street is organized by the university’s Spider Board, with participation by many student organizations including fraternities and sororities. Admission is free, but those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to FeedMore. Food and beverages will be available, with a portion of the proceeds also benefiting FeedMore.
