Photographer, storyteller to discuss how she uses photography to shed light on social issues

Award-winning photojournalist and multimedia storyteller Janet Jarman will discuss how she uses photography to shed light on contemporary social issues, such as immigration and environmental destruction, March 26, 7 p.m., at University of Richmond’s Jepson Alumni Center. 

Her talk, “Framing the Conversation: Immigration and Other Contemporary Social Issues,” is part of the 2013-14 Jepson Leadership Forum, “Culture Shock: The ART of Leading Society,” presented by the Jepson School of Leadership Studies.

Jarman will discuss her 16-year photojournalism project on immigration in the U.S. and show her work, which has been published in media outlets such as The New York Times, Time, National Geographic, The Smithsonian Magazine and others.
