August 5, 2014

University of Richmond is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the school in the new 2015 edition of its annual college guide.

The Princeton Review does not rank the colleges academically or from 1 to 379 in any category.  Instead it reports in the book 62 ranking lists of top 20 colleges in various categories.

UR is on the following ranking lists in “The Best 379 Colleges”:

#3 Best Science Lab Facilities

#6 Best Career Services

#11 Best Athletic Facilities

#16 Best Classroom Experience

#17 Great Financial Aid

#20 Most Beautiful Campus

The lists are entirely based on The Princeton Review's survey of 130,000 students attending the colleges.

In Richmond’s entry, one student noted, “Students have access to state-of-the-art technologies and research labs that normally only graduate students would be able to work with.” Students also highlighted the “great business program” and the “excellent pre-med program.”

The guide also names the University of Richmond a Best Value Colleges for 2014-Private, noting it is “one of the best overall bargains based on cost and financial aid among the most academically outstanding colleges in the nation.”

Richmond has been selected by The Princeton Review every year the book has been published. The university consistently ranks as a top-tier liberal arts university and a “best value” by U.S. News & World Report, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, SmartMoney magazine, Forbes.com and other leading college guides.
