2015 Women of Color Conference will feature 'Colored Girl Confidential' blogger at University of Richmond Feb. 13

Keynote speaker LC Johnson of the blog “Colored Girl Confidential” will foster a dialogue about current issues facing women of color in this year’s Connecting Women of Color Conference,  “When I Look at You I See…” at the Jepson Alumni Center, Feb. 13, 1:30-5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

LC Johnson, an award-winning blogger, entrepreneur, educator and activist, has spent the last several years forging a career path focused on personal and professional development for women of color. The 2010 Duke University graduate is the creator and editor of the award winning blog “Colored Girl Confidential.”

The Connecting Women of Color Conference promotes diversity, inclusiveness and intellectual and personal development for women of color. The conference aims to include women from the University of Richmond, other local universities and the community.

Participants will have the option to take part in two of three sessions titled: “Young, Powerful, & Professional,” “Unwritten Rules” and “Media Malay.” These sessions will cover job attire, understanding microaggressions and the portrayal of women of color in the media.

The event is hosted by Westhampton College.
