Thomas M. Joyce, former chairman and CEO of Knight Capital Group, to be Robins Executive Speaker Series guest March 3

February 24, 2015

The University of Richmond Robins School of Business welcomes Thomas M. Joyce, former chairman and CEO of Knight Capital Group, as part of the Robins Executive Speaker Series on March 3.

In his talk, ”Anatomy of a Crisis,” Joyce will discuss the company’s trading error of 2012 and share insights into the lessons that can be learned from the event.

“I hope members of the audience will take away the value of relationships in a technology-centric world as well as the importance of being visible during a crisis,” Joyce said.

With more than 30 years' experience, Joyce is a recognized leader in the financial services industry. Before joining Knight Capital Group in 2002, he was global head of trading for Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Prior to that, he held a variety of leadership roles throughout 15 years in the global institutional equity business at Merrill Lynch & Co.

Joyce graduated from Harvard College in 1977 with an A.B. in economics. He serves on the boards of Ronald McDonald House New York, Special Olympics of Connecticut and Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, Mar. 3, 6-7 p.m., in Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium. A reception will follow the lecture. To register, visit: http://tiny.cc/wattsjoyce030515
