William H. Goodwin Jr., retired chairman and president of CCA Industries, to be C-Suite Conversation guest March 26

The University of Richmond Robins School of Business will host William H. Goodwin Jr., retired chairman and president of CCA Industries, in the final C-Suite Conversation of the spring semester. The program will be held March 26, 8 a.m., in Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium. It is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

In 1971, Goodwin founded Commonwealth Computer Advisors, which became CCA Industries, a diversified holding company that oversees businesses, including The Jefferson Hotel, The Hermitage Hotel and Keswick Hall at Monticello. Prior to the company’s founding, he worked at IBM.

Goodwin earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 1962 and an M.B.A. in 1966 from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Engineering Foundation and vice rector of the Board of Visitors at University of Virginia.

Goodwin has received numerous awards for his work in the community, including the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Award from Johns Hopkins University and the American Cancer Society’s Medal of Honor for Philanthropy. He was inducted into the Greater Richmond Business Hall of Fame in 2000.

C-Suite Conversations are unscripted interviews with regional business decision makers and leaders. The series highlights challenges and opportunities of high-level executives and provides insight about how they balance leadership obligations with the needs of stakeholders.

Richard Coughlan, senior associate dean of the Robins School and director of The Richmond MBA, will interview Goodwin.
