VP of talent at Universal's Illumination Entertainment to be Robins Executive Speaker Series guest Nov. 2

The University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business welcomes ’96 alum Dave Rosenbaum, vice president of talent at Universal Studios’ Illumination Entertainment, as its Robins Executive Speaker Series guest on Nov. 2, 6-7 p.m., in Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium.

During the event titled, “The Hollywood Blockbuster: the big business of the arts,” Rosenbaum will share insights from his career in the film industry.

During his time at Illumination, a film production company financed by Universal Studios, Rosenbaum has overseen talent acquisition and story teams across feature films, marketing, video games and theme park rides. The company’s “Minions” and “Despicable Me” film franchise has ranked among the most profitable in history, having grossed billions of dollars around the world.

Prior to joining Illumination, Rosenbaum worked at Dreamworks and Screen Imagination Agency in Europe. He made his directorial debut in 1999 with “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” starring Josh Duhamel.

Rosenbaum graduated with honors from University of Richmond with a dual bachelor’s degree in business administration and theatre. He received the Welsh Theatre Scholarship, the E. Bruce Heilman Leadership Award and the Mace Award.
