November 14, 2015

University of Richmond’s Office of International Education has been actively monitoring the crisis in Paris. Richmond students currently studying in Paris are safe.

In addition, UR has reached out to all students studying in Europe this semester and have asked them to be in contact with the university. “We’ve already heard from many, including some who were visiting in Paris, and they are safe,” said Martha Merritt, dean of International Education.

Students studying abroad also have been encouraged to contact their families directly.

“The safety of all University of Richmond community members is of utmost concern to the University,” said Provost Jacque Fetrow. “We are continuing to monitor the situation closely.”
