David Gardner, co-founder of The Motley Fool, to visit Jepson School

David Gardner, 2015-16 Jepson School of Leadership Studies Leader-in-Residence and co-founder of The Motley Fool, will present “8 Foolish Thoughts on Investing, Business and Life” on March 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Jepson Alumni Center.

Gardner serves as chief rule breaker at The Motley Fool, which he co-founded with his brother Tom in 1993. The company’s mission is to help the world invest better by focusing on long-term investments in world-class businesses. Glassdoor.com named The Motley Fool the #1 Medium-Sized Company to Work for in 2014 and 2015.

Gardner is a recipient of University of North Carolina’s prestigious “Distinguished Young Alumni Award” and served on the Individual Investor Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange for 15 years.

Each academic year, the Jepson School invites a local, state or national leader to participate in the Jepson community as a leader-in-residence. Honorees offer students multiple opportunities for learning and networking, which may include participating in classroom settings, leading discussions and hosting presentations.
