April 8, 2016

University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business has named Scott Hetzer, retired Dominion senior vice president and treasurer, as its Executive of the Year.

Hetzer previously worked at Wheat First Butcher Singer, a full-service investment banking firm headquartered in Richmond. Before joining Wheat, he served as a senior vice president in the investment banking group at NationsBank, now Bank of America.

Hetzer joined Dominion in October 1997 as vice president and treasurer, and was named senior vice president and treasurer in May 1999. In July 2009, he also began overseeing the tax department.

He serves on the executive advisory council of the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, the board of trustees of the Virginia chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and on the boards of several non-profit organizations.

Hetzer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Robins School of Business and earned an MBA from University of Virginia.

He will be honored during Honors Convocation April 15. This event recognizes the installation of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society inductees along with recipients of merit scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year and 2016 awards for Robins School students.

“Scott Hetzer is an alumnus who has chaired our Executive Advisory Council for the past two years,” said Robins School Dean Nancy Bagranoff. “Scott has had an outstanding career as a corporate leader in a Fortune 500 firm, and he will have important leadership messages for our students.”
