University of Richmond adds six members to Career Services Advisory Council; CSAC advises university on career best practices

May 5, 2016

The University of Richmond’s Office of Alumni and Career Services (OACS) has named six new members to serve on its Career Services Advisory Council.

CSAC advises the university about career-related best practices for serving students and alumni. Its work focuses on supporting OACS’ goals of enhancing the comprehensive approach to career development and to further build and deepen partnerships with employer organizations. For example, the council supports the Spider Shadowing program, which gives students a unique, observational experience that allows them to spend a “day in the life” with industry professionals.

Chelsea Sopko will serve as the council’s chair. Sopko works for McKesson as a human resources business partner.

The new CSAC members include:

Kimberly Keno, manager, human resources client consulting, Capital One

Shannon Maynard, ’97, executive director, Congressional Hunger Center

Peter McDermott, ’06, principal, Corporate Affairs, Korn Ferry

Will Michalopoulos, R’85, senior director, Retail Sales, Hearst Magazines

Nick Nicholas, ’08, lead consultant, Impact Makers

Scott Richmond, ’05, manager, CapTech
