University of Richmond will host the 20th annual Big Yard Sale Saturday, May 13, from 8 a.m. to noon in Millhiser Gymnasium, which is across from Robins Stadium. Thousands of gently-used items donated by students during move-out week, including furniture, shelving, rugs, clothing, household items, books and more, will be available.

“This is a win-win event for the environment and for Richmonders,” says Rob Andrejewski, director of sustainability. “Not only do our staff and volunteers divert thousands of pounds of waste from the landfill, but community members can also find incredible deals on items left behind by the students.”

Proceeds from the sale benefit University of Richmond student sustainability groups and the Falls of the James Group of the Sierra Club. Any items not sold are donated to Goodwill, another partner in the event.

All transactions for the sale are cash or check only. Credit cards are not accepted.
