University of Richmond selects firm for athletic director search

August 4, 2017

The University of Richmond has selected Collegiate Sports Associates to serve as its consultant in the upcoming search for an athletic director. CSA has worked with the University previously, including leading its last search for an athletic director. CSA’s founder and president Todd Turner has served as the director of athletics at four major NCAA Division I universities.

“Todd has extensive experience working with the University of Richmond and is well known and widely respected in national collegiate athletics,” said Dave Hale, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the university. Hale is chair of the athletic director search committee and will work closely with Turner and his team during the search. “Todd also understands our commitment to our student-athletes and our desire to continue the University’s long tradition of competitive success.”

CSA has worked with numerous universities in helping place athletic administration leadership, including Duke University, Furman University, Virginia Tech, Air Force Academy and Santa Clara University.

In the coming weeks, the University expects to appoint a search committee to work with CSA. The search firm will also meet with Athletics Department staff, as well as collect input from the university community and alumni who actively and enthusiastically support Spider Athletics.

The formal search process will commence with the start of the fall semester and is expected to conclude with the appointment of a new AD prior to the end of the fall term.
