Broadcaster Krista Tippett to discuss civility and public life at University of Richmond's Weinstein-Rosenthal Forum Oct. 2

Krista TippetThe University of Richmond will welcome Krista Tippett for the 31st annual Weinstein-Rosenthal Forum. Tippett, a Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and author, will discuss creating meaningful conversations in our communities and the role of faith communities in those conversations.

This event will be held Mon., Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in Modlin Center for the Arts, Alice Jepson Theatre. The event is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow the lecture.

Tippett is the creator and host of the podcast and public radio show “On Being,” which aims to answer questions of human life in the 21st century. “On Being” is home to the “Civil Conversations Project,” which Tippett also hosts. The foundation of these two projects focuses on breaking generational, socioeconomic, religious and political boundaries by engaging in conversation and relationship building. 

In addition to winning a Peabody Award for her work, Tippett received a National Humanities Medal from President Barack Obama in 2014.
