Popular 'Trick or Treat Street' event returns to University of Richmond

October 6, 2017

Children can safely trick or treat during University of Richmond’s 19th annual “Trick or Treat Street” Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s community Halloween event will be held in a different location on campus. The event will be held at Stern Plaza, which is located in the outdoor quad between Jepson Hall and Ryland Hall, off of Gateway Road.

Parking will be available on Richmond Way, behind Jepson Hall, and on Ryland Circle, behind Ryland Hall. Directional signs will be prominently placed around campus.

Local families can enjoy a bouncy house, petting zoo and other holiday-themed activities. Local radio station Mix 98 will be on site again this year to host its annual pet costume contest, and lunch will be available from the Carytown Burger and Fries’ food truck.

“Families attending this event can enjoy what have become traditions, including the straw maze presented by costume-clad UR students,” said Matt Isenburg, a UR student and president of Trick or Treat Street. "We have tons of exciting additions to this year’s Trick or Treat Street, including a haunted forest and a children's train ride.”

This student-led service event will benefit Ronald McDonald House charity. The Ronald McDonald House houses families of children undergoing medical treatment. Guests are encouraged to bring a $5 to $10 donation.
